Gamers, saddle up, because Rockstar just did the digital equivalent of duct taping Red Dead Redemption to every device in your house. If it lights up, if it charges, if it has pixels, congratulations, it can probably run Red Dead Redemption now. Phones, tablets, next gen consoles, Netflix, the new Switch 2, your smart fridge is probably next in line.
This release is actually two games in one, because you get the original Red Dead Redemption plus Undead Nightmare, the greatest cowboy vs zombie expansion ever conceived by humankind. And now they are both officially available on iOS and Android with mobile controls, Netflix streaming, and performance modes for those brave enough to duel bandits on a six inch screen. I respect the chaos.
Meanwhile, console players are eating very well. PS5, Xbox Series X S, and Switch 2 versions come with free upgrades if you owned the PS4, Xbox One, or Switch releases. We are talking 60 frames per second, HDR, 4K support, DLSS, enhanced image quality, mouse controls on Switch 2 for some reason, and save transfer so your progress follows you like a loyal horse that only judges you a little.
The bottom line is simple. If you have ever wanted to replay John Marston's journey or fight off frontier zombies while waiting for a bus, your moment has arrived. Red Dead Redemption is now everywhere. Truly everywhere.
